Venue Spotlight: Historic Henry Breeding Farm

A couple months ago, I visited a wonderful ceremony/reception site in Bartholomew County, Indiana. The Historic Henry Breeding Farm is located in Edinburgh – about 2 miles away from the outlet mall, hotels and dining. It is perfect for couples looking for a rustic venue for their reception. They also have plenty of land perfect for a ceremony.

A few facts about the barn and the property:
Size of the barn: 3500 square feet (can seat up to 300 without a dance floor – 250 with a dance floor)

Amenities provided with rental:
Ample parking
180 metal folding chairs
25 6-foot banquet tables
Kitchen with standard size stove
Refrigerator, and double sinks
Male and female restrooms (not in barn)

Factors to consider:
The barn is not heated or air conditioned. Rental is not advised after October or before May.

While there is a house on property, it is not available to rent. If you choose to have your ceremony at the farm, you will have to get ready elsewhere.

Here are some pictures I took during my visit: (note: the plastic covered items in the barn would be removed for an event) If you have questions about the Historic Henry Breeding Farm, visit their website or contact the Bartholomew County Historical Society at (812) 372-3541.
